Karlos Nasar Sets Two New World Records

Olympic gold medalist Karlos Nasar achieved another phenomenal result in his career. He became European champion in his new weight category – up to 96 kg – setting two world records in the process.

In the snatch, Karlos Nasar set a world record by lifting 188 kg. He opened with 174 kg, then moved on to 180 kg, which he lifted with ease. His third and final attempt of 188 kg – 1 kg more than the previous record set on December 14, 2021, by Colombia’s Lesman Paredes Montaño – secured him the gold in the snatch.

In the clean and jerk, Nasar started with 210 kg, then lifted 220 kg, and finally set a new world record with 229 kg. With a total of 417 kg in the combined lift, he finished 38 kg ahead of the runner-up.
